Bonjour Chers Collègues
The French Traveler offers professional development workshops every summer in France for teachers of French. Attended by teachers who hail from the four corners of the US, we focus on the contemporary cultural issues of France, making them accessible to you and consequently to your students. Morning seminars and afternoon excursions fill our days; we also have leisure time and optional activities. We speak only French; we dine together in restaurants selected for their authenticity. When we’re not engaged in animated discussions about France today, we're collectively pooling ideas for new lesson plans or perhaps spending our free time in those monuments, museums or bookstores we’ve been longing to visit.
Our annual Cultural Immersion Workshop will earn you 85 Massachusetts professional development hours for your efforts. You may also apply separately for three graduate credits from the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
The 2008 stage intensif will be start in Toulouse, France and finish with four days in Sarlat (Dordogne). In Toulouse, we'll be staying at a three-star hotel in the center of town, within walking distance or restaurants, bookstores, boutiques and transportation, and in Sarlat our elegant hotel offers a pool, beautiful lounge area and quiet rooms. Both hotels are air-conditioned.
For the tenth consecutive summer, we’re proud to present an outstanding professor to lead us in stimulating discussions and pedagogical pursuits in the morning seminars. Professeur Philippe Arribet, agrégé en linguistique, Université d’Orléans, native of Toulouse, will stimulate your inquiry into intercultural issues which is bound to have an impact on your lessons plans next fall.
We hope you’ll come stretch your limits with us. Register early; space is limited.
Join us as we embrace this rich and varied region and vivons à la française!
